ARAM MALIAN

Aram Malian was born on 13 August 1967, in Beirut, Lebanon. He received his primary education at the Roupinian School, continued his studies at the Sahaguian-Levon Meguerditchian College, and completed his high school at the Hovagimian-Manougian School with honors. He was actively engaged in the College public life as a member of the College Alumni Union, the member of the College Board. The same period was marked by his membership with AEBU (The Armenian Educational Benevolent Union); since 2010, he has been appointed Chairman of the Union. In 2010 and since 2016 up to the present, Aram Malian has been a member of the Beirut City Council. Thanks to his conscientious efforts, the official naming of the New Hadjin Neighborhood in Beirut and the placement of corresponding signs became possible. Aram Malian is also a member of the Yerevan-Beirut Sister Cities Council, contributing to the exchange of experiences between the two. He has also been a trustee of the Hayasdan All Armenia Fund. In 2022, Aram Malian represented his candidacy in the 2022 Lebanese parliamentary elections. His activities in the fields of culture and education have been particularly outstanding in recent years. On 11 March 2018, His Holiness Aram I, the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia bestowed Aram Malian with the “Knight of Cilicia” Medal and on this occasion, the Papal Encyclical was read. Aram Malian and Lydia Keshishian have three children: Celine, Roben, and Lilas.
