Yeprem Baghboudarian

YEPREM BAGHBOUDARIAN

 Yeprem was born on 8 June 1934 in Damascus. He attended the local Sahaguian Elementary School and joined the Armenian Sports Union (Homenmen) as a Scout Master and a band member as a drummer. At the age of 15, he started working at his uncle’s “Carroserie” factory, later embarking upon his own small business. In 1960, he married Varsenig Garabedian and settled in 1966 in Beirut (Lebanon). Thanks to his diligent work, Yeprem purchased land and established the “YEBCo” company, which had established a significant reputation in the Arab countries. In 1979, he finally relocated to Glendale, USA. His daughters, Lena and Tamar, attended the Alex Pillibos Armenian School. In the year 2000, Yeprem joined the LA Chapter of the Compatriotic Union of Hadjin, assuming the position of Vice-Chairman, and later, Chairman of the Union. In 2005, he participated in the Union General Deputy Meeting in Buenos Aires and was elected the Chairman of the Committee. Yeprem Baghboudarian paid numerous visits to Armenia and Nor Hachn with his wife and the Committee members, participating in the memorial events dedicated to the martyrs of the Hadjin self-defense, implementing various charitable projects, including the support of the Vanadzor orphanage. In 2010 with the support of the Baghboudarian family, the “Varsenig” Daycare Center was founded at the Nor Hachn Middle School #4 after Medzn Murad (the principal Haiganoush Bedrossian). A great friend of the Museum of the Cilician Armenians, his contributions to the Hachn Community have been highly appreciated. on the invitation of the Mayor of Nor Hachn , Gagik Matevosyan, he attended the consecration ceremony of the newly built “Sourp Amenaprgitch” (Holy Savior’s Church), received numerous Certificates of Appreciation for his material contributions in implementing nation-focused initiations, as well as staying committed to the Hadjentsi ideologies. Yeprem and Varsenig Baghboudarian’s daughter, Lena, is a former Principal of “Clark Magnet High School” (La Crescenta) and presently is the Senior Director of Glendale City Public Schools. Tamar is a PE teacher at the Alex Pilibos Armenian School. Yeprem Baghboudarian died on 16 February 2023.
