Krikor Tatoulian

KRIKOR TATOULIAN
Krikor Tatoulian from Shar-Hadjin known as Avshar, dedicated his life to the Armenian cause through heroic acts of courage and revenge. In the 1920s, Krikor and other valiant individuals confronted and appalled the Turkish executioners by trespassing on the lands of Western Armenia and Cilicia. His deeds are remembered in Krikor Tatoulian’s “Cherished Secrets”, transcribed and edited by Haroutyoun Sahagian in Beirut, in 1967. Krikor Tatoulian married Zarouhi Seraydarian in Adana where their daughter, Takouhi, was born. After settling in Lebanon they had four more children: Makrouhi, Mari, Bedros, and Vartouhi. Takouhi and Mari had succumbed to the disease at an early age. Krikor Tatoulian made significant contributions to the founding of the Beirut Nor Hadjin Neighborhood, the St. Kevork Church construction, and the vestry.
