JUAN GABRIEL TOKATLIAN
Gabriel and Maria’s son, Juan Gabriel Tokatlian, is a sociologist with an MA and a Ph.D. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC. Since 2009, he has lectured and conducted research activity at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and, since April 2012, has been the Dean of the Department of Political Science and International Studies of the same University. Formerly, he was a Professor at Universidad de San Andrés, Argentina, from 1999 to 2008. Between 1981 and 1998, he lived, taught, and carried out research in Colombia, where he was an Associate Professor (1995– 1998) at Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá and Co-founder (1982) and Director (1987–1994) of the Centro de Estudios Internacionales (CEI) at Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá. He has published various books, essays, and op-ed articles on the foreign policies of Argentina and Colombia, on U.S.-Latin American relations, contemporary global politics, drug trafficking, organized crime, and violence in the Americas. He is married to Christina, and they have a daughter, Alejandra (an art and music devotee; she plays various instruments). Pablo is a gastronomic entrepreneur with two children: Marcos (Master of Economics) and Martina (NeurologistPsychologist). Daniel is a businessman; he is married to Vivianna, and they have a daughter, Sofia (ski racing coach in Colorado, USA).
